Ouch! That Was Kinda Scary..
No worries, I’m fine, boyz-n-girlz!
Gouda to Utrecht, A12 Highway, snow falling and slippery roads. Car in front of me brakes and I step on the brakes too, car starts to go in a spin and I hit the side-thingy. No physical harm, just very, very rattled..
Next phase: getting assistance from the police and a tow truck. Takes about 25 min. for them to arrive and in the meantime the three lanes turn to two and passers-by check out the wreck.
What really was a pleasant surprise were the three times people stopped to check if everything was alright with me, thanks guys!
The scariest part? Well, got a replacement car at the towing company and after less then two and a half hours I was on the road again in a car I didn’t ‘know’, I never drove so.. nervously focussed..
Back at home, I took a very long relaxing bath and some shut-eye. It’s gonna be weird to drive again tomorrow ;o)
Oh yeah, and to the driver who took a picture of the wreck while passing by: fuck you and your grandma’s bones.. (yeah, that did annoy me quite a bit, typical “disaster tourism”)
