So, uhm.. If I Said I Wasn’t Really Surprised..
..would I be the one that’s generalizing and typecasting Australian people’s xenophobia and in doing so, being a sort of anti-Australian bigot?
In case you didn’t follow the news on this:
So some sad excuses for human beings at some beach in Australia got drunk and rowdy (another stereotype enforced..) and with the general mob mentality happening, everybody including visiting families and their children joined in singing racially-incorrect songs. This went on to escalate into violence against “people of Middle Eastern appearance”, beating up people, etc. There’s a background history of growing annoyance towards groups of Lebanese hanging around the beach, so it’s gonna turn into one of those “They started it and deserved it And Vice Versa” stories..
Still plan to go there on vacation one of these days, enjoy the Reef, the landscape, etc. And I’m sure I’ll meet plenty of locals there who don’t agree with these ignorant shites. But that’s the funny thing, you never know, do ya? See? There’s a prejudiced bastard in all of us! Thank [insert deity of choice] we use social conditioning to regulate such backwards thoughts.. and thank [said deity of choice] that ignorance is one of the universal qualities we humans share regardless of race, creed or color.
Now where’s that bottle of Forgetfullness?
