(Think this one’s gonna flashback in my head for quite a while..)
Plot: Two illegal Mexican workers in California try to make ends meet. Out of necessity, they decide to take on a different type of job with serious consequences.
Cast: The cast was very well selected; no one grabs your attention, but everyone contributes to the overall feeling of the movie perfectly.
Visuals: A very, very, very long and boring opening scene followed by a noisy Tarantino effect did make me doubt going to this movie. Everything else was more supporting of the bland moodiness of the film.
Conclusion: I liked the feeling, the mood of the film: gray and bland and monotonous. The whole situation concerning the new job is predictable: keeping everything slow and quiet, followed by a very loud climax scene. I think I will be thinking about this movie, just because of some of the well-filmed non-eventful scenes (like the closing scene).
But the plot and the climax weren’t that great.
