Movie: Juno (Jason Reitman, USA, 2007, 96′) imdb link

Date: Feb Jan 25, 2008

Rating: ★★★★☆ (Quirky, funny, fresh)

Plot:Incredibly sharp-witted 16-year old girl finds out she’s pregnant and decides to deal with the s(h)ituation.

Cast: Not skippable at all!
A quality cast including personal fave Allison Janney and people like Jason Bateman. Special mention: Jennifer Garner, who shows people she truly understands how to make fun of her typecasting.
Stars of the movie: Ellen Page and Michael Cera who rule the screen like seasoned veterans.

Visuals: Nice, some natural weirdness applied quite skillfully.

Conclusion: Ok, I think the Wes Anderson comparisons should be made, but this movie stands by itself when it comes to the subject matter - teenage pregnancy was never so aptly handled. The hype surrounding ex-stripper-turned-writer Diablo Cody is a bit too much, let’s see what the dame does in her next coupla projects.
I got exactly what I expected and enjoyed myself the whole time. Director Jason Reitman delivers the goods.
