IFFR 2007 - It Begins!
Yes, boyz-n-girlz, it’s that time: tomorrow the 36th edition of the International Film Festival Rotterdam takes off!
And this will be my fourth time working there as a volunteer, which is incredible fun: lots and lots of movies (really? wow..) and even more talk about cinema and the best place to get a great noodle soup at 4 in the morning..
Went to get the tickets today and the list is getting absurdly large - 25 movies in 10 days, but hey, who needs sanity and conformity when you got a gazillion movies from all over the world? The movies are hugely diverse in styles and genres, short films and weird experimental stuff (never really fringe stuff), arthouse and wanna-be culti stuff combined with Hong Kong action and South American landscape tearjerkers, you name it, it’s all here.
And I’ll be posting short reviews of the movies I’ll be viewing during the festival. Which is always something I enjoy doing the first coupla days before the inevitable meltdown caused by too.. frigging.. many.. movies. Not complaining, hell-no.. I will be a physical wreck before it’s over, but bring it on!
