IFFR 2006 – “Takeshis’”

First off: Takeshi Kitano is one of my all-time favorite movie directors and actors. His Hana-Bi still sends chills down my spine..
This movie? Wow.. Too much explanation time spent on getting a very simple point across: Kitano seems to be tired of the typecasting, always being the hard-edged gangster and such.. After two minutes you already get it, but Kitano wants to take his time..
Conclusion: maybe I still didn’t get it and that may be the main point of the movie, but all in all – not a good movie.
